Here are three choices for overnight accomodations for the event: stay in the dorms inside the event, stay at the Red Roof Inn in Cary, or camp at the fairgrounds.Overnight In the Dorms
We have a limited number of beds available in the dorms inside the event area. For $20 per person, we are offering a bed in the dorms on-site, a Saturday evening sandwich buffet, use of showers on-site, and a continental breakfast on Sunday morning. You must register by September 9th to reserve your bunk.
Red Roof Inn in Cary (3 miles, less than a 10 minute drive)The Red Roof Inn at 1800 Walnut Street, Cary, NC (they call it Raleigh SouthWest or Raleigh NCSU-Cary). For about $50/night you get a room with 2 double beds for up to 4 adult guests. Register online at redroof.com, or by phone at 800-733-7663. If you register by phone, make sure to ask about more discounts. They offer $5 to $10 off for a variety of things like AAA, veterans, over 50, and maybe memberships like Costco and Sam's Club, but won't mention it unless you ask. You can also hit hotels.com and search for other hotels near the NC State Fairgrounds at 974 Youth Center Drive in Raleigh, NC. Camping at the FairgroundsThe NC State Fairgrounds offers camping for $25/night pers site/tent. There are tent sites inside our event space, and everything from tent to full RV hookup sites elsewhere in the fairgrounds. Call Fairgrounds Public Safety at (919) 612-6767 or (919) 821-7400 for more details. Please note that, if you tent camp inside our event space, the fairgrounds will charge you their $25 fee, then we will still charge our overnight fee of $20/person on top of that to cover the overnight activities and fees we pay the fairgrounds. Of course, if you tent camp inside the event, you will still have access to the Saturday night grill dinner, restroom/showers and breakfast Sunday morning. |
